Dear Dad and Mam
Just a line to let you know that I am as per usual in the pink hope you are all the same. I sent you my photo the beginning of the week hope you have had them before now. I am still on the course and will be here till week next Saturday so that when I get back to the battalion I will expect a good big mail waiting for me. I told the chaps in my tent in the batt to open the parcel from the Ladies Committee and eat all that’s eatable in it and keep the rest for me. Don’t you think this was the best way because I might never get it if they sent it on here. When I go back and see it has come I will write and thank the Ladies Committee. I have not got much news this time by the way I was at a service in the YMCA here on Sunday night a sergeant of the RWF was preaching he was from Holyhead. He was very good and I enjoyed the service up to the mark. I have not seen anybody from about Abertysswg about here saw some chaps from Merthyr. We get plenty to do here I have not worked so hard for a long long time and I have to use what little I have upstairs too. It’s not simply form fours and quick march but plenty of brain work, map reading, marching by compass, lectures etc etc etc and so on. After the first week my brains felt proper addled by trying to cram so much inside it. I am sure you pity my poor little head, if you don’t you ought to. There is a chap from Brethder (Brithdir) here with me, he is a corporal. Well I don’t think I have much more to say hope you are well excuse the writing as I am in a hurry and have been all along since I have been here. I have to fag company drill for tomorrow. Hope you are all in the very best of health. Give my love to Jon and Mag hope my nephew is in the pink look after the youngster till I come home to give him some points. Hope Mailys and Dyfan are getting on alright. I hope Mam and Dad are (Juice Katiar ?). With best wishes to you all.
I am
Your loving Son

Hope you have enjoyed a Very Happy Xmas
